Street Style photography Advice

For those interested in street-style photography, you will be well aware that London Fashion Week is the ultimate hot-spot, where an eclectic mix of fashions come together in one place.

What people forget, is that it is not just the fashion show areas which are filled with such styles, there are certain areas around London which are buzzing with fashionable beings around this time. It’s all about getting that one shot, that one outfit, which no one will get! Or you getting it out there first.

New Bond Street, Saville Row, Covent Garden, Berkley Square, Holborn and Bankside W1, are all great places to hang around for the ultimate photograph around Fashion Week. This is because they are main areas surrounding the events. Checking out the LFW website also shows you where events are held.

Embody the Scott Schuman and bill Cunningham inside of you.

Think before you snap! What are you showing? Is it interesting? Is the framing good?

Make it personal. What make your photos unique? Is it framing, a theme you try and find on the street or the presentation.

Ask Nicely. Mention who/what you are working for, and make them feel good. If they don’t want to be photographed, then don’t!

“The main thing I love about street photography is that you find the answers you don’t see at the fashion shows. You find information for readers so they can visualise themselves” – Bill Cunnigham
