At the mere age of twenty-two, Suki Waterhouse is fast becoming a familiar name amongst modeling and acting. With editorials in Love Magazine and Vogue Japan, gracing the covers of Tatler and Elle UK and having modeled for Coast and Marks and Spencer, to name a few, this Karate-doing model, who is often seen wearing Burberry, is now the face of Burberry’s new fragrance for women, Brit Rhythm.
Burberry’s chief creative officer Christopher Bailey is aiming to merge the men’s fragrance and women’s fragrance bringing music, fashion and fragrance under the Burberry brand name together for a colossal global campaign. Burberry have been on a launching mission, from introducing Brit Rhythm for men in April 2013, to introducing a number of endeavors for the brand. through Bailey’s decision to immerse the brand into the digital age, starting with a host of QR-codes, Instagram and twitter concepts.
Burberry acoustic was launched, devout to supporting emerging music talent, thus leading onto a temporary tattoo launch allowing fans and followers to wear the Brit Rhythm silhouette and “live out the Brit Rhythm experience in person” with Live gigs being held. Photographers were selected by Bailey himself to collaborate alongside the brand to snapshot #ThisisBrit imagery from the gigs around the world for Instagram, and subsequently, a ready-to-wear and accessories capsule, centered around the iconic leather jacket was launched, including rock-chick variations of the jacket with silver rivets, vibrant clutch bags and studded shoes.
The fragrance itself forms an oasis of scents, described as a “free-spirited, irreverent fragrance for women” with “a rush of English lavender, neroli and pink peppercorn. An intoxicating heart of blackberry leaves, orris absolute and orange flower absolute. A deep and sensual baseline of vetiver, musk and vibrant woods”.
Suki, alongside George Barnett (drummer for These New Puritans), in a black and white film, draws together Baileys grand vision. Set at a Rock concert, beginning with the scent being sprayed, shots of the bottle silhouette, before all glitter, lights and Glamorous rocker Suki wearing an iconic leather jacket rock this campaign.
