Where can you go and sit and admire one of the worlds most major fashion-house’s endeavours. It feels somewhat wrong, calling Prada merely a fashion-house when they are so much more. Apparel, accessories, film-makers, writers and much more, hence why they call in the universe of Prada.

“An event not to be missed, May will see the in-store launch of PRADASPHERE. The exuberant exhibition will catalogue the multifaceted activities of the Italian design powerhouse – from fashion and accessories to architecture, cinema, and beyond. Concurrently, the legendary Harrods Exhibition Windows will showcase treasures from the Prada archives coupled with a capsule collection of ready-to-wear, bags, shoes and accessories inspired by iconic Prada collections from the last 100 years – developed exclusively for Harrods.

Housed on the store’s Fourth Floor, the PRADASPHERE exhibition will trace the ever-widening ambitions of Italy’s most influential fashion house, and present a broad spectrum of historic collections, special projects, collaborations and experiments. The carefully curated selection of design ideas will be adjoined to the first PRADASPHERE Café.” – Harrords Site

ImageThere, on the fourth floor sits a thick velvety carpet which leads into Pradasphere, where all things excellent, beautiful and historical come together.

“Welcome to the Pradasphere, a collection of remarkable objects arranged to reveal our complex, often intertwined, obsessions as manifest in everything from fashion and accessories to art, architecture, film and culture. It is also an unabashed celebration of exquisite materiality and craftsmanship, a paean to the rare and the finely wrought, and a whole-hearted endorsement of the stylistic iconoclast.” was the message seen by special industry guests including Vogue when the exhibition opened.

On exhibition is an array of many beautiful things. Bags, mannequins adorned in Prada, books and much more. There sit green sofas (a revival of Verner Panton’s modern classic reproduced exclusively for Prada) whilst the history of Prada is laid out through books, plaques and screens.

The Harrods windows are of course also fully Prada whilst Prada flags have been placed across the front of the building. This Prada-takeover is a beautiful recognition of how far the company has come since is emergence in 1913.
