FW ’14: The Lipstick

One of the biggest beauty trends this year, from the catwalks and beyond was lipstick. The fall 2014 is trend is a nude lip; seen at the Dior, Valentino and Valli shows, the nude lip is a great accessory to a great outfit, or a powerful eye, as seen at Atelier Versace. So what do you need for the perfect nude lip?

How to start…

A good lip needs to be perfectly scrubbed and buffed. Each night, use a scrub for a perfect lip. Lush, Philosophy and Bliss, are scrubs to try. To buff your lips, avoid a glossy/perfumed balm. Burt’s Bees, Vaseline and Carmex are great, whilst Malin & Goetz, Ren and Dr Bronner are suited more to chapped and cracked lips, and those lips which are in need of a little more care.

The perfect pout…

Despite a nude lipstick being essentially nude, each varies. Some have a little pink, some are just pretty much bare, but for the perfect pout, and if you really can’t go out with lipstick on, then here are my top picks:

RMK Irresistible Lips B lipstick (colour B30) £19.

Maybelline Super Stay 14Hour Lipstick ‘Beige for Good’ £6.99

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer ‘Shooting Star’ £6.49

SUQQU’s creamy Glow Lipstick (number 14) £27.

ILLAMASQUA‘s Glamore nude lipstick at £18.50.

Paul & Joe Lipstick (refill) ‘Pot Pourri’ £12.50

NARS Pure Matte in ‘Montego Bay’ £19.

Lord & Berry in ‘Nudo’ £10.

TopshopLips In Nevada’  £10

Too Faced Melted – Liquid Lipstick ‘Melted Nude’ £19.00
