Fashion Week Favourites & the words of Suzy Menkes

All photos via tumblr, and are therefore not my own.

This year, though fashion week is still going (currently in Paris), it’s safe to say, we’re all swooning over what we’re seeing…

“Jewelled pasties to cover the essentials, anyone? Sheer black bodices and slithering silver tops? Sex, clogs, rock ‘n’ roll?”- Suzy Menkes on the Tom Ford show

“Alberta Ferretti is a princess of fashion fragility. The delicacy of her work for spring/summer 2015 included nude chiffon with pleats so tiny they looked as though they had come from the fingers of fairies.” – Suzy Menkes

“It is important that ethical fashion lines, with fabrics sourced in countries such as Africa,  are  not viewed as charity, but as appealing as fashion items. A black tunic with a scarlet insert from bust to waist or a jacket with insert panels of animal prints, both looked urban and modern.” – Suzy Menkes on the Edun show (day three of NYFW)

“Rihanna was in the front row tapping her tomato-red platform shoes, her blue Alexander Wang outfit rising so high up her bronzed legs that the hem was not too far from her matching hat.”- Suzy Menkes

“A pre-dawn sky grey dress with full sleeves, and with pastel flowers and feathers cascading down the front, could only be destined for walking the bridal aisle. But many other pieces were light, short and summery – especially separates when a whorl of white flowers topped narrow trousers; or when a simple top teamed with a skirt was covered in flowers.”- Suzy Menkes
